project pictures vs other pictures?

I uploaded the first project a couple of days ago. ("My Halloweave...") I added 3 pictures. Most of the project-adding went smoothly, even though I find some of the fields a bit iffy (for instance yarn: if I enter "16" I get 5 suggestions, one of which is 16/2 cotton. BUT: if I enter "cotton" I get 10 *different* suggestions - among which 16/2 cotton can't be found...).

After I added the project, I wanted to tell my halloweave groups what I had done, and add a picture. I couldn't find my pictures in "my file browser".

Where are the project pictures - are they somewhere I can't access? Why aren't they among "my" files?

And while I am asking: what does "logo image" mean (as opposed to an image that i "insert" wia the insert button)? And what does "original content ID" mean?

Project images vs. user images

Hi, Kerstin.  As you discovered, project images are stored with the project, rather than in your user directory.  Only images uploaded inside a post go to the your image directory.  I believe this is a necessary distinction, because we need the project images available for featuring elsewhere on the site (on the projects page,
front page, etc.), while the images in your directory are personal to
you.

There is a way to bring an image from a project page into
your group post without uploading it again.  To do this, go to the project, right-click the mouse over the image you want and choose "copy image location". Then go to a post, click the "insert/edit image" icon, and paste what you copied into the "Image url" field and click "insert".

That way, the image does not need to be stored twice -- once in projects and
again in your image directory. Unfortunately, it is not quite as
flexible as the image loader. For example, I couldn't figure out how to
make it a thumbnail or link automatically to your project. Yes, more
user documentation would really help.

Because halloweave projects
are so closely tied to halloweave teams, we are working on a way to have
all the team's projects show up on the team's page ... for next year.

Original content id has no practical use for individual users, as far as I
know.  We need to do some more investigation, on our test site.  "logo image" is the name of the image field used inside forum posts (and
nowhere else).  I think it is a holdover from earlier versions of
weavolution.  Most people seem to prefer using the insert/edit image
button and their own image directory for group and forum posts.

You have a good point about the way the auto-complete function works when you are choosing yarns.  I couldn't find a quick fix, though.  This too will need more investigation.
