Thought I'd check here to see if anyone else is having the issue before I report it as a bug.
When I click on the Forums tab, I see all the main Forums and the ones I'm subscribed to. At one time, I thought when there was a new post in a particular forum, it would show the pink envelope beside the forum name. I'm not seeing those anymore. It's also not showing me the number of new posts on the right hand side. In order to find new posts, I'm having to look at the Last Post column to see if there's a time listed since I last visited. As an example, let's say I know that I last looked at the forums yesterday at 5:00pm. It's now 9:00 am so anything with a time less than 16 hours, I know is new. Anything more than 16 hours, I've looked at. Is everyone else seeing the pink envelopes to denote there's a new post in a forum?
I'm using Vista with Firefox 3.5.2. I've tried clearing cache and cookies and that hasn't helped.
I'm seeing the number of new posts. I can't remember if the pink envelope showed on the main forum page or just when you opened a forum, but I'm not seeing it on the main forum page.
The pink envelope is just next to the new message within the forum topic. I don't believe it was ever displayed on the main forum page. The new topic number is listed under the # topics in the forum page. It seems to be working right for me. When it shows there are new topics, that means brand new subjects in that forum. You could have several posts that are replies to a topic you've already read, and you won't see those on the main forum page.
Personally, I'd like to see an indication of ANY new activity in the forum, whether it's a new topic or a reply to an old topic. Do you think that would be nice? I'm on the dev team so can ask them if it's something we could add soon.

You are correct in your observation. When you click on the Forums tab, the forums and group forums will show the number of "new" Topics that have been generated since you last looked at the specific forum or group. And, there is not yet an equivalent functionality for the "new" posts. I do exactly what you do in that I have to look at the "last reply" text to determine if there have been any new replies since I last visited the specific forum.
I have made a request to get this changed, but at the moment there is a significant amount of development and testing work happening with the looms feature. So we need to be patient...
Anyway Thanks for noticing... the fact that you pointed it out tells us that yes, this is a desireable enhancement...

And... I'll try to keep an eye out on the "Pink Envelope" behavior. I had been seeing something where I didn't think I was seeing all of the "Pink Envelopes" that I think I should, but that was usually in a specific thread, and I was wondering if it might be due to a forum post being edited.
Thanks for your reply (and everyone else too). It seems that I was imagining the pink envelope thing on the Forums page :) I don't have any problem watching the Last Reply text until they have time to get the # of new posts thing fixed. I know it's a work in progress and appreciate all the effort that is going into making Weavolution a great place for weavers.

Well, I saw your reply via an email and clicked on the link. Normally, though, if new posts in a forum are only replies to to existing topics I won't see any indication of that when looking at the forum. The only exception is replies to my posts (like this one) and then I'll get an email telling me there was a reply.
I'll bring this up to the dev team and see if and when we might see ALL new activity in the forums. I'll try to remember to keep you informed of the status.
