Is there a function that alerts you to messages in your private message box that is in the top right hand orange box on the home page? I looked thru notifications and couldn't find anything. Right now I just have to remember to check my messages every once in a while to see if someone has posted a message to me. What have I missed. Thanks Deb
For one of my messages, an orange box appeared right below the black band on the top of my page, stating that I had a new message. I don't get a whole lot of messages, but I only saw that box once.

I will be publishing a list tomorrow of the things we are continuing to work on. You used to receive an email when you had a PM. That system is not currently working and we have tried several ways to turn it on, site wide, and no luck so far.
When you first sign in, there is a Message right above the black horizontal menu bar that tells you how many new messages you have. You will not see it if you check the "remember me" box and don't need to sign in.
Watch for News tomorrow.

yep, JordanJ helped me figure out what to look for to see a private message, in short the way the current system works now if you choose to stay signed in (as in "remember me"), you just have to remember to check your private messages from time to time to see if you have anything. Currently the system only tells you that you have a message when you literally sign into the system. On the old system we had a # beside the message area that told us how many private messages we had. No message, no #. I never relied on an email to let me know about private messages, I just used the notification that appeared on the old weavo screen.
I always relied on the email notification. Happened to stumble on two messages I didn't know I had, by random. I'd rather not have to check another thing, more time, when I rarely have messages here. Wish they could just forward the messages to my email address directly.

We are trying to get this issue ironed out so you receive an email when you have a new private message. This is something that got lost in the transition and we will get it back soon.
In the meantime, when you first log in, a large message appears on the home page, right above the black menu bar when you have new messages.

Thank you Laurie. I am hoping to publish a NEws article today with a list of all the fixes that are in process. The large print in this RTE is on the list along with PM issues.
Thank you for your patience, too. Together we can get this working better. It's a big comfort to me knowing we are safe from crashing and total destruction.
