Hi Claudia,
I triend to post a photo in m new Group post "Dye Fail" in the "Weave Fail" group. but there is no provision for adding photos. I see that here in "Create Forum Post" under "comment settings" there is a box to upload photos, but I did not see that in New Group Post. Please advise? XO Gail & Fog
Hey Gail & Fog,
IF you look at the icons above the Comment box, you will see one that looks like a TV set. When you roll your cursor over it, it says "insert/edit image" click on it to upload photos. If you want to watch a short video about how to do the upload, since it has changed, go here.
Thanks for asking, we'll find everything. You might like reading this.

Hi Claudia,
Thank you for your reply. I think that you misunderstood. The screen that i see does not look like the one in the UTube video that you provided. The screen that I see has NO icons at all, only the word "body" where you are supposed to type your message. I see the same screen w/ no icons when I try to reply to post. or post in groups. or post in forums. I checked all of my groups to see if I could find one that had icons. none did. Please advise?
Thank you! xO Gail & Fog
Gail,
When I go to Weave Fail and click on Create new group post from the left side menu I get this:
and when I go to Dye-Fail and click on Add new comment at the bottom of the Dye-Fail comment, I see this:
Both seem to give me the icons so I am really confused. Can you do a screen shot of what you are seeing when you go to Create a new post from the left side menu when you are in your group and from add a new comment? That way I can see what is happening. Thanks , we'll get this sorted out.
Claudia
Hi Claudia,
Thank you for helping! I didn't know how to do a screen shot, so it didn't occur to me to send you one! Now I have learned how to screen save, but again, in this comment box I see no provision for posting the screen save
There are choices under the Comment box that are called "input format", I have posted those choices below. Maybe when you tell me how to fix the groups/forums post, that solution will apply to Comments as well.
I have posted the screen shot to my blog, the URL is
http://msthimble.wordpress.com/
Thsnk you Claudia, for your hard work!! XO Gail & Fog

Gail,
Can you give me the url of the comment box where you are not seeing the options that look like this:
I know it's blurry, that seems to happen when you resize so it fits. But do you see the choices under the bold COMMENT?
What computer operating system are you on, PC or Mac, and which internet browser and which version of that browser. For instance, I am using Mac OS 10.6 and Safari 6.
The more info I get the easier it is to find a possible fix.
Claudia
Hi Claudia! Here is the URL for the comments box i am currently using, which does not have icons.
http://www.weavolution.com/forum/weavolu...
I took a screenshot of it here is the URL for my blog w screenshot

I am on PC windows XP home edition version 2002 service pack 3, I am using SOL destop version 10.1. and Windows Explorer version 8.
Thank you Claudia!
XO Gail & Fog
ALso,
Claudia, i have cleared my browser cache, still getting same result,
XO Gail & Fog
Gail,
Are you seeing the icons here? Is it in your Weave Fail group that they are missing? The url you pasted doesn't work. I can see the screen shot and I believe you I am just having trouble reproducing the issue. Once I can make it happen, I can start working on it.
Thanks for your patience, we are both frustrated and stumped on this one.
Claudia
Gail,
I think I found it, give it a try now and see if you can see the icons.
Claudia
Hi Claudia,
sorry to report that results are the same. I cannot see icons in any group or forum post, or in comment post. I tried every group that i belong to.
http://www.weavolution.com/forum/weavolu...
Here is the link to the comment box i am currently using.
Thank you for tryimg so hard on this.
I continue to need to log in on every page in order to post. I have changed my password so that it does not use symbols.
Thanks for all your hard work! XO Gail & Fog
Claudia, mcthimble is not alone with this problem. I have been waiting to see if it would be fixed so I could post some updates to "Trees, bark, and leaves", but so far it hasn't. I was able to finally make changes to my profile, but it took a very long time for it to work. Also, my project pictures never transferred. Maybe if other have same problem, it would help to locate it if we identify ourselves???
Enrica
Hi Enrica,
What are you using Pc or Mac? Internet explorer, Firefox, something else? The more information I get the easier it is for us to reproduce this bug and fix it.
Thanks,Claudia
I have a PC - AOL. I also tried my profile again, and my avatar mysteriously reappeared from the ozone, but when I tried to replace it, it disappeared and the new one wouldn't come up even though the message said it saved. Then the old one reappeared and disappeared again. The name change worked, but nothing else on the profile page will work.
Claudia, I just tried creating an entirely new account with a different email. I still get the same upload box without a toolbar, only the HTML info at the bottom.
Enrica
Thank you Enrica, that is very helpful information. I have asked the developers to investigate this and will let you know what they uncover once I hear back from them.
Are you using Internet Explorer? or does AOL take you to various sites on the internet? I am not familiar with AOL as a Browser. I use Firefox and Google Chrome. Do you have any other browser?
Claudia
I'm using my daughter's computer instead of my own, so I'm not completely sure how it's all set up. Explorer icon is on the desktop, so it may be part of it. I click AOL to go online.
Claudia,
I can use AOL as my browser with no problems on Weavolution or any other web site. I see the exact same things as I do using Internet Explorer.
Susan
Susan,
When you are using aol can you see the icons above the comment section when you are posting in groups and forums?
Claudia
Yes, I can see all the icons, pictures, etc.
I explored Weavolution through both AOL and Internet Explorer and found no differences between the two.
I am sending this through AOL and edited it through Internet Explorer.
Susan
Susan,
Do you know which version of IE you are using? Do you have all the icons above the comment area in a reply?
Claudia
I'm curious why the browser one uses would make a difference in how the website will function. Although I haven't spent much time with it yet I am finding it difficult to navigate in and I'm still missing photos from My Projects. BUT by the way, thank Marian for changing the heading in My Profile to say "About Me" rather than including the word "Fun"!!
Tommye
Claudia,
I am using IE8 and AOL9.5. Both of these function as web browsers in the same way. There has never been any difference between the two in reading websites no matter what the version I had.
Except on Weavolution after this change.
I have logged into Weavolution and hit reply for both. On IE8 I do see the icons above the area I write it except that the Inset Link is grayed out so I can't post a link. The Unlink icon is also grayed out. Below the comment box I see

The save and preview buttons are also present.
On AOL I don't see the icons above the comment box at all but below the comment section I see the following

I tried the reply button on several different groups/forums with the same results. I could have sworn I saw the same things on both yesterday but maybe that is my imagination. I apologize for any confusion but apparently I have the same trouble on AOL as others do. And I am can't add a link to my comment when using IE
BTW, I am using Windows 7 Professional
Weavolution is using a lot of graphics and icons, many of which are links to something else. To a programmer all of this is code. Unfortunately it seems that some of this code is not compatible with some of the browsers so the browsers aren't reading the code or reading it in a different way than what the Weavolution programmers had intended.
I have just spent a very long time trying to figure some of this out, and here is what I have:
I called my daughter to see how to use Internet Explorer through AOL, because I knew she did it sometimes. I did this and tried to access Weavolution, but it wouldn't, although I could do other things. I saved the screen message, but lost it when I did the install. I then went to AOL and did a search on IE. The first page on the search was a download of IE8 that was to improve on AOL compatibility. I then downloaded ie8-setup-aolsearch-xp.exe from client.web.aol.com. This took over two hours on my no-other-options-slow-dial-up. I am now in Weavolution through IE8, but there are absolutly NO photos anywhere on the page, only the boxes with red x's in them. I have all of the proper download icons on this message box, but the process of downloading the photo was very involved. I am now going to go back to Weavo through AOL to see what I can see.
I am now back through AOL and all of the images on the Weavolution pages are back, however the one that I just downloaded through IE8 is still the box with red X, and I no longer have any download option on the comment box.
Thanks everyone for your comments. We've been working hard to determine where the issues are and are reporting it to the developers. I hadn't tried the AOL browser, so that is great additional information too. We'll keep you posted on this issue.
I'm with Tommye: Though I know it is true, it is odd to me how much is browser dependent - especially when the base software (Drupal) is so widely used!
A lot is based on the browser and some is problems with the ISP and (Drupal). If you go to the Drupal web site (which is very hard to Navagate) they tell you to contact your ISP and have then to "do" something.
Michael
Based on info from CraftinSusan, I decided that I needed to download the latest version of AOL. This had been avoided because of the time it takes to download. I just spent 5 hours and 14 minutes doing the update, sure that this would solve the problem. It has not, but I now know to contact my ISP, and I understand that all of the problems being encountered are not necessarily on the Weavolution end.
I am now able to post projects, including photos, but I can't edit my profile or add avatar.
Hi. When you're trying to edit your profile, are you in "My Profile" and have you clicked on the "edit" tab? If so, what are you seeing and what is happening? Please provide other details such as your browser and what computer (PC or Mac) you're using.
Thanks,
Alison
Hi Alison,
Jsut an update, I tried using Google Chrome as a browser as another member suggested, but i am still experiencing the same problems I reported end of July with not seeing icons when attempting to post to Groups. I understand htat you are meeting w programmers and wish you luck!! Claudia has been great about gathering info and following up Hugs to you both!! XO Gail & Fog
Hi Gail,
Do you see the Enable Rich text at the bottom of the Comments box? Try clicking on that and see what happens.
Ellen switched from IE8 to Chrome and has been thrilled. She has all the icons, etc. See if you can find that one line. Let me know and I'll keep digging if that doesn't work.
Thanks for the hugs, back at you,
Claudia
Hi Claudia,
I am using Chrome now and have no change, cannot see icons. I also tried Enable Rich Text, nothing happens.
Thank you for the suggestions.
XO Gail & Fog
Gail,
Did you clear your cache and cookies? and reboot after changing over to Chrome? Can you send me a screen shot?
Thanks,Claudia
Hi Claudia, I have followed your directions, been trying daily to post photos to groups, continue to get the same screen as i posted for you on my blog on July 28. I have posted screen shot of today's attempt on my blog
http://msthimble.wordpress.com/2010/08/2...
Also I continue to have to log in on every page of Weavolution if I wish to post or comment.
Good luck with this and thank you for your help.
XO Gail & Fog
Claudia, look, I did it!!! I switched to Firefox and now it works!
WAHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! XO Gail & Fog

Excellent. I was wracking my brain on this one. You came up with the best solution.
Nice pic, love the effect of the warp threads flowing in front of you.
Claudia
I use Internet Explorer 7 on my PC and did not have the tool bar on the top of the comment box. I had to download Google Chrome to get the bar so I can post a picture. I really like to use IE, do you think this will get fixed? Also, the old version had Spell Check. Will you ever have that again?
I also enjoy Chrome and believe it the best choice. Many websites are not supporting IE 7 and 8 because of problems with the browser. There are no changes we can make to be compatible with IE 7 or 8, it's Drupal, which is our core software, that doesn't play nicely with those browsers. Some say that IE9 will solve these problems.
As for the Spell check, we have spell check, that has not changed. It may not be working in IE7. Which, I expect, is about Drupal not spell check.
Claudia
I'm using Chrome, and I have the tool bar, but I don't see Spell Check. Maybe I have to enable it from the drop down box for Styles? I don't know what all those things in the box mean.
I understand your confusion, spell check is automatic. When you type a note, try mistyping a word, intentionally and the red line will appear under the word indicating it has been mispelled. See the word I just messed up, it just does it automatically in all the comment fields and then , when you save it ,if you do not correct it, the red line goes away.
Claudia
Thanks Claudia, that's great!
Doreen
