how can I get to "next" topic? (and "red alert" again)

When I use the forums tab, I get a list of all the (open) forums. When I then click on one of the forums, I get a list of all topics.Say that I want to read the three last posts - I click on the third topic, read all I want. Now, I would like to just click "next" or somesuch - but the only way I have found is to use the browswer back button. Am I missing something?

Also, yesterday I used the "mark all topics read" feature. Today, I have a "2 new" POSTS (not topics) in the chat forum, but clicking on that just takes me to the first page of the Chat, where no reds show. Are they some missing posts, or what has happened?

just to add a little more

I found the the active "red alert" button only perform consistently when I stay on one type "entry" page to read the messages.  In this case I normally use dashboard, when I only use dashboard as my point of entry into weavolution the "red alerts" usually disappear.  If I bounce over to just forums in the orange box far right corner, all the messages revert back to "red" and I am back where I started from with all messages marked as unread.  My Groups in the 3rd column doesn't work at all, in that the "red alert" doesn't even take you to the new messages AND it doesn't seem to track messages.   Perhaps we should note that the group function is not functional so that new folks don't get frustrated when they try to read group posts. Ok, give me a couple hours

Ok, give me a couple hours tomorrow morning and I'll test out what you have posted then send it on to the developers.

Kerstin, I believe the back button is your only choice in the first circumstance.

Deb- the red "new" thing has me stumped and I will try to put your comments together with Kerstin's and pass them on.

Thanks all,Claudia

Next function in forums

Hi Kerstin,

You asked about the ability to navigate to the next topic while reading the forums.  I asked the developers and when we instituted the ability to have advanced forums where we have unthreaded, chronological, numbered forum posts and dates and the online, offline and PM this person functions, the ability to navigate within the forums is not compatible with the advanced forums module.

I hope that helps answer the question.
