I just found the "Mark all forums read" and "Mark all topics read" buttons at the top of the forums list and at the top of each separate forum (News, Chat, For Sale or Trade, etc.). I completely forgot we had requested this be added.
I really like the way our developers added this but actually missed it until today!! So I thought I'd share this little discovery with everyone.

Claudia,
How does that work? Does it mark every topic in the forum or just the ones that I have read? If a new comment is posted, does the "read" mark come off?

You can do it for each individual forum by clicking on the forum name, like Chat, and if you see topics that do not interest you but have a red new next to them, once you have read everything that interests you, click on the "mark all topics read" in the top right corner of the list and the next time you come back to the Chat forum (wait at least a minute or two) there will be no more red new. Here's a screen shot:
See next to Post new forum post. It says Mark all topics read. It only applies to that one time, just in the Chat forum in this case, it doesn't mark future comments as read.
Funny, this is a tough one to explain. I will see if villageweaver will do a video Help topic for this. I'm having trouble putting it in words.

Last week I tried that feature - marked all topics read on Chat forum. Two days later, there were 2 new comments that I could not identify. Now they have become 3...

(No, I hve not tried it again. It will probably work, until the "news" begin to accumulate again. It is not a problem, but it certainly is a bug)
