I took the time to upload my 4 photos for a project to my file browser. (tie dye with natural dye extracts)
When I went to create my project, the area at the top where you load the photo ONLY allows me to upload a photo, it does NOT allow me to go to my file browser (or I am not smart enough to figure it out) to link to those photos there. I guess I expected to be able to pluck pictures from my file browser into my project.
Now....further down in the project page there is the comment section which allows you to insert a photo, such as we do in the group or forum messages.
So....should I not bother to upload to my file browser first? and just upload straight from my computer to the project? Am I missing something in the first areas where you upload a photo that will allow me to go to my file browser. This is not a critical item, it is just as easy to upload direct and I think it ends up in your file browser anyway but I'd like to know if I am just not seeing how to link over to my file browser....so here's some logwood, osage orange and quebracho red/cochineal tie dye shirts for a preview! I'll put mordant and measurement info on the project page once I figure out this question. Deb Mc

Hi Deb,
You are correct, there is no access to your file browser when you are adding a project until you get to the "Notes" section and can use the RTE which is available in all the comment boxes throughout the website.
Here is my understanding. This page was created by our developers for our website exclusively. This is not a standard Drupal page and it is not a canned program from some other site. The photo you upload in the top box is downloaded from your computer or from a file on your computer and does not go into your file browser until/unless you put it there. If you want to have the photos available there, I suggest that you use the one or two photos you want to show for the project in the top photo upload space and then put the remaining photos in your file and use them in the notes section. You can always resize them to fit nicely on the page.
Thank you for pointing this out. I hope to work on more topics for the Help page and this will definitely be the start of the "How to add a project" help topic.
Have you see the YouTube video on the photo upload? It's here.
Keep up the good work, it helps me understand where we need to have added explanation.
Claudia
What Claudia has said is correct.
For project photos, there's definitely no reason to upload them before you create the project. We wanted to make sure that it was easy for everyone to upload photos when entering projects, so we made that interaction different than the one that you use when you post to a forum or group thread or comment. One of the consequences is that you don't have access to other pictures that you've uploaded when adding a project.
Ideally, I'd like to simplify the picture upload through the editor, but that's not nearly as easy.
No worries on this, I just thought I was missing something, for some reason I thought the file browser would connect to the project load, no big deal. I know NOW not to take the time to upload in advance. In the old system sometimes the project load would tank and you would LOSE the photos and the projects details would be lost, I'll get better with practice.
so, my mantra is......don't preload project, upload direct!
Good mantra. You can also add, the website doesn't tank when you are in the middle of writing something or, worse, uploading all the details for a project.
