Hi Franco,
You found a great site. It's good to have the sizes of all these things. I also recall an article in Handwoven about 4 years ago listing towels, placemats, napkins and other household items such as dish towels and bath towels. The sizes Franco found in the previous post are about the same as what I recall from Handwoven. I'll see if I can find it.
Let us know what you are specifically interested in, it would help.

This question came up some time ago in a Yahoo group and the answer was that there is a table in the back of Mary Black's (New) Key to Weaving. I don't own this myself so am just passing on the information that was supplied in the other group.
Hope this helps.

Hand Towel: measures approximately 16x30" This everyday towel gets plenty of usage drying hands after hand-washing.
Wash Cloth/Wash Towel: measures approximately 13x13" This small square towel is used both in and out of the shower/bath to wash hands, body and face (don't forget behind the ears!)
Bath Sheet: approximately 35x60" A bit more indulgent that a standard towel, this oversized towel is ideal for those who prefer more coverage after a shower or bath.
Fingertip Towel: measures approximately 11x18" A bit smaller than a hand towel, this rectangular towel is often used in guest bathrooms in place of a hand towel.
Tub Mat: measures approximately 27x52" A handy, tightly woven and highly absorbent towel used outside the tub or shower stall to prevent the floor from getting wet.

Have a good day!
Also... as a designer and handweaver one can always determine the size one needs or wants! In my weaving classes I'd suggest students make a paper model (kraft paper or newsprint) of the size they thought they wanted (like for place mats) and try out a place setting on it. I also asked if they had an item that they liked the size of--for instance, a scarf. Measure that item and design the handwoven to be that size.

Thank you, Thank you one and all. Great resources and suggestions. I know that I could measure things I like, I wanted the table/chart as a basic reference. I have pounds of cottolin and Louet linen that I would like to use up ( to make room for more stuff later on, but I digress). At my recent guild sale (Jockey Hollow Weavers, Mendham, NJ) I noticed there were not a lot of household textiles, so thought this would be a good stashbusting project this year for gifts and items for the sale. I have Mary Black's book, will look more closely for the table. Jerri
There is also a chart on page 40 of "The Weaver's Companion", by Interweave Press.
