WANTED: used Schacht Baby Wolf 8T 8H. I will be starting weaving lessons soon and am looking for a Baby Wolf 8T 8H loom. I currently knit and spin and would love to incorporate some of my handspun in some weaving projects. From what I gather, once one gets a Baby Wolf, it's very difficult to part with the Baby. Spinners feel the same about their wheels! Just in case life causes the need to part with your Baby Wolf, please "pm" me, I'd love to talk with you. Be assured your loom would go to a loving home and would be very well cared for well into the future.
Suz, there is a baby wolf here for sale: http://fiberarts.org/classifieds/listads.html?l=2&s=0&g=1&t=Baby+Wolf+-+Many+Extras+&d=1&a=1
I do not know the weave just saw the ad and knew you are looking for one. It is in RI.

The is a 8 shaft BW for sale from one of my guildmates. The loom is located in the Stroudsburg, PA area if interested.
Thanks Michael for keeping your eyes open for me! I've been watching that one as well. It has a sale pending notice on it with the caveat that if the sale falls through it will be reposted, so I'll be watching it for a few days.
Gee Sally, I have two sisters in PA and a brother in NY. Sounds like a road trip to me! I will contact your guildmate for more info and maybe some pictures too. Thanks for the head's up. I appreciate it.
Suz, Please update your profile and note what state or country you are in? Looks like you are in the NE?
Michael
Will do. Thanks!
TX thats A long way from NY. Of course we went from GA to MI to pick up A loom. The price was right.

We all do what we need to do, huh. I've started my weaving lessons with a Master Weaver and even the math didn't scare me! Of course when the Master Weaver showed us some of the things she has woven, I thought, "WOW, I don't know about this..." Just a tad-bit overwhelming to say the least, but we moved on and worked the lesson step by step and I felt much more comfortable with all of the information.
Two girlfriends and I start our road trip to pick up Baby Wolf next week and enjoy the beach for a few days. We're really looking forward to that as well. A girl's only road trip, what could be better?
While we're gone I've given my hubby your instructions to build a bobbin winder for me. I'm excited about that too. Thanks for sharing your instructions, they will help out this new-be weaver. You seem to be a fairly practical guy with a very mechanical mind. Good for you!
I Suz and every one.
I am new on the site but very exited about it.
I to am looking for a use loom, a Wolf Pup or Baby Wolf did you find yours ?
Welcome to Weavolution!! So glad you found us. I have one question, is there any particular reason why you prefer those 2 looms? I love my Baby Wolf but sorry it was my first purchase. I jumped at a great deal instead of researching my options. It's okay now because the loom of my dreams has moved to my home, at last. I would have chosen differently first time around.
Just curious,
Claudia
Yes, I've found my loom by searching all over the internet for days/weeks on end it seems. Used Schacht Wolf looms sell fast, a testament to the reliability and craftmanship of Schacht products. I also have a Schacht spinning wheel, that I purchased used, that I just love. I travel with a Kromski Sonota spinning wheel and my Matchless stays at home waiting patiently for my return.
I've found that my fiber arts equipment/tools are my babies therefore, I will be driving many miles to pick up my new-to-me loom as I don't trust shipping it across four states. I much prefer taking on the responsibility of picking her up and getting her home myself and if anything happens along the way, it's totally my fault.
If you follow this thread, Moe has posted a Baby Wolf for sale.
Good luck in your search and be patient. It takes time.
Blessings, Suzanne
Hello Moe
Thank you for your offer, but I was looking more for a 4 shaft loom and my budget is lower than what your asking .
Thank you Claudia for Welcoming me in the group.
My English isn't so good because I am French .
I am looking for a folding loom because my 30 inch floor loom is in the basement in the same room has my wood-stove
so it is very hot in winter time for weaving.
Thank you suzanne
Mimus,
Another suggestion would be to join Ravelry.com It is a website resource for knitters, spinners, weavers, and anything else to do with fiber artistry. Ravelry has groups just for weavers alone and you can post what you are looking for there. Both Weavolution and Ravelry are very friendly places with tons of information and resources. Also try kbbspin.com, allfiberarts.com, and the weaving guild in your area. All three can be very helpful.
