Hi - I am in the market for "budget" priced used temples. (16"-24" and one ? scarf size) I have not used one before, but I think it might be hepful. Turns out Weaving is an expensive hobby.

Before I purchased temples from Paradise Fibers at $45 to $55 each (wow!) for my new-to-me 4 shaft loom, I used a homemade temple set that I read about in this website. They worked really well on my rigid heddle loom.
Disclaimer: I'm a newbie weaver so there may be better ideas out there.

Just to add that I think the new temples are worth the price, although they do obscure the most recent weaving from view, unlike the homemade ones I used.

I think these will work, at least to try. I too am new. I have been doing tapestries on my ridgid heddle, but this new floor loom is a whole different world.
See this posting here at weavo for an inexpensive temple that I made:

Sally - that is a great idea. and I have one of those rods in the garage.

Also, Worst's book, "Foot-powered Looms" has plans for a temple which I will be using myself. The book is in the digital archives online. Just go in there and enter the title in search. That old book is a gold mine.
Paperclip temples are another option. I haven't used them, but there are a lot of posts about them on Weavo.
Why does it say access denied when I try to link to your posting?

This is Worst's temple I mentioned earlier. Pretty much the same as many commercial ones today. Of course it's made from things that are easily gathered, but requires some proper tools to cut and drill the holes with some accuracy.
It says denied access to me also???
Was wondering if you have to subscribe to the group first. ??? The link works here, but I subscribe to that group.
