22" Dorset 4-H direct tieup folding loom, good condition.
$600 OBO. Located in Mass. Includes 3 weaving books, two boat shuttles and bobbins, small rigid heddle
loom with stick shuttle and a few tubes of assorted warp yarn.
This sweet little loom was barely used and has sat in storage for 30 years. It looks great, like new, but I'm not a weaver so I can't say 100% that it's all there. The largest overall width of the loom is 26" side to side, but the 4 harness frames are 22". I'm asking $600 but will most likely accept the best offer I receive this month. The loom is located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Would prefer pickup but could possible arrange delivery within reason and for additional charge.
hello--- several interested parties couldn't swing the transportation to come get it--- so I still have this loom and happy to consider all offers as I need to move at the end of the month--- thanks.
Have you considered folding, boxing and shipping? If that was possible I (as many others) would be interested.
I boxed and taped one up and shipped it via Greyhound bus from Michigan to Georgia for $65. Very reasonable. I think you could easily use cardboard and shrink wrap from home depot.
Wow, I like the Greyhound idea....that sounds pretty reasonable.
One lady from PA got a quote from a local Fedex pack and ship place that was going to charge her over $300, which seemed ridiculous....
When I move, I actually am driving across the northern part of the USA to CA and then down into AZ, so for the right price I could actually bring it with me and deliver it to someone on the way.... my van is pretty full already, though, so I was hoping to find a new home for it before I left...
What happened with this loom and your move?
How much does this loom weigh? Does it fold up for easy transport?
I think mine weighs 38 lbs, something like that. I can put it on the floor on the passenger side of my trucks front seat. I think it is one of the best little portable floor looms around. Great little workshop loom and I love to weave shawls and towels on mine. Easy to treadle, easy to warp. I don't think you can go wrong with a dorset. I'd buy it if it was closer to my house.
+1 to "I'f buy if it was closer"
Is this loom still available? I coordinate a community art project that teaches weaving to folks who are homeless or in rehab, and we are looking for small looms. Please contact me asap: tikkunknits(at)yahoo(dot)com.
