I just tried to search the groups page, using the search box "search groups by".
The left field ("name") works, but when I tried the "location" box I got stuck. I tried Sweden, found no groups (not surprising), but then I was stuck with Sweden in the search field. I tried to change to lots of different places (like Canada, Texas, Vermont... ) but *always* got a response of nothing found AND Sweden in the search field. I tried to close the browser window (Firefox 6.0), opened a new window, went to the groups page - and Sweden was still there. (What I did not try was to log out and in again)

The location field refers to the location entered by the group creator/moderator. When searching for groups on the main groups page I usually leave the location field blank and use the group name field.
I suspect your browser is responsible to retaining the information you entered.
I hope this information is helpful. The other way to find a group you may be searching for is to use the main search field at the top right side of every page. You can put anything in the open field and use the drop down menu to choose Groups.
