The naked truth on Forums and Groups

I have received a few comments about the differences in forums and groups on our new site.  The developers for the first version of Weavolution achieved many things by actually changing the code for Drupal which made the site unstable. Thus, we often had funky errors and weird things occur at times that could not be explained. Unfortunately, to solve small problems they created larger problems by changing the basic code. Then, no other developer would or could work with the resulting mess.

We now have a brand new, fully functional website with the Drupal core code intact and one result is the Forums and Groups are different.  Here's how it works.  Everyone sees the 6 main Forums.  We all have access to the Forums and Groups in the Orange cloud at the top right side of the page.  Forums appear in a list format. Groups have the intro to the group at the top and the most recent comments (threads) under the intro.  Under each Group comment thread are a set of choices that look like this:

If the comment thread interests you, click on either 3 comments and 3 new comments.  Then, return to the main page of the Groups and go to the next Comment thread.  I have searched through several groups and am very certain all the comments have migrated to our new site. You may not see the most recent comment if it was made as a response to an existing thread.

We now have a Weavolution with clean, stable Drupal core and modules, like Groups, that behave as they were designed to work.  We also now have a bright future to build on and improve the basic site.   With additional funding, we hope to continue improving the yarns and looms section.  We'd like to offer an ecommerce area for people to sell their monographs, patterns and woven items.  Many of the day-to-day fixes can now be achieved by Weavolution volunteer developers, something we were unable to do on the hacked old site.

Thanks for your patience. We are working to complete the HELP section so some of the new functionality will be explained there.  Please continue to leave your comments and questions in the Forum "Improving Weavolution".
