I just noticed that handweaving.net has now added the liftplan functionality to the wif download.  Last time I tried to upload a draft to Weavolution I could only enter a tie up draft.  Will the new Weavo allow a liftplan to be loaded instead of a tieup plan.

I am asking this because a liftplan can not only be used by a computer loom but also by someone that does pickup.  It might become a useful tool for folks if they understand that on a simplistic level they can convert a tieup to a liftplan and pick up that liftplan and create the fabric pattern.  regards  Deb Mc

 A liftplan would also be

A liftplan would also be very helpful for those who weave on a tableloom with levers.  I have a tableloom with four shafts and I find it hard to believe that it is at all possible to weave with more shafts than four if you have levers and  no way of tiedown.

Eight shafts on a table loom

Eight shafts on a table loom is not too bad.  Each hand controls four of the levers (on front mounted levers), one for each finger.  When you get into 12 or 16 shafts it becomes a lot slower and more of a pain (especially with side levers).

I agree, a way to upload drafts with liftplans would be helpful for pickup, computer looms, and table looms.  It also helps those who have limitations on the number of treadles their computer program will accept.

We will have to look into doing this.

Thanks for bringing this idea up now since we have just begun testing.
