I have been trying to update my profile with no success. There is no place to "save". Or am I missing something?
At times (like just now) I also have had repeated problems posting. I will type it out, and when I go to post, it comes back up empty with the error message "Body field is required". This doesn't always happen, but often enough it is frustrating, especially when I try 3 or 4 times to post the same message (then I give up and go home, bah!).
Hi Neshobe!
When you click on "My profile" in the orange box, you should be taken to the "My account" page which should be divided into a number of tabs like "View", "Activity privacy settings", "Edit", and more. Some tabs have Save buttons and some do not.
No matter where you are in the account settings, you'll always see boxes for your projects, your drafts, and your stash. The Save button, when present, should appear ABOVE those boxes. For me, the button is glued to the top of the "JJohnsII's Projects" box - but it doesn't have anything to do with the projects box, it affects the settings above the button.
If the above description doesn't match your experience with the profile settings, please let me know, and please indicate if you're browsing from a computer or a mobile device like an iPad.
I'm sorry to hear about the editor losing your messages! I haven't experienced that problem and am not certain what to suggest, but I will add it to our log of things to watch out for.
Thanks for your reply! After getting your message, I went back to the edit page. As you said, there was a "save" button just above the projects, etc. However, it was NOT there before! I had looked everywhere, up down left right and there was NO save button on that page or anywhere else. Also, while there were little boxes saying Projects, Drafts, and Stash, but that's all there were-- no contents. I have only posted some projects, and those didn't show as they do now. I thought perhaps I had to click on the boxes with the words, but nothing happened. I wanted to post a couple of drafts, but there seemed no way to do it at that time. That's working now too, and will post later. I noticed from reading posts in Weavolution help that in the past similar things have happened to others, including lost posts. It's those gremlins at work again.
Neshobe,
TO add a Draft, go to the Drafts area from the black bar across every page. On the left side you will see "Add a Draft". Click on that and you can add a jpg of the draft you are using. Most weaving software programs allow you to save your draft as a jpg. Once you have done that, you can post it on Weavolution.
THanks for sharing your projects and drafts. Your updated profile is great. It's very nice to read all about your weaving adventrues. Welcome back to weaving, so glad you found us.
Claudia
I think that day the gremlins were just determined to hide stuff from me, because I couldn't access it (or post). The gremlins are either on holiday now or JJohn managed to rout them.
I am using WeaveDesign, which as far as I know doesn't convert to jpg. However, it is easy as pie to simply grab the image using Paint Shop Pro. I have been doing that for my electronic project record forms, and have a couple to post, and one I want to ask some questions about before I start winding warp!
I appreciate your and JJohn's help. And I love being on Weavolution. I've been focusing on building my skills and so have been doing fairly simple things, but the folks here have really sparked my interest in exploring some things I'd never thought of.
