Hi. Yesterday I was going through the posts listed at the top of the home page. I went to one, and read through the posts and entered a reply myself. The name of the post was something like "Migrated Group..." which I have seen often in many different forums, so I didn't know which one this was. I looked everywhere on the screen before I saved my post because I knew I would want to re-visit and see if there were replies. Maybe I missed something, but now I find myself unable to know where it is without going through all the gruops and looking at that "Migrated Group..." post to see if that's the one.
Bonnie.
I have found too that this is a problem when visiting threads from the hot topics on the home page.
That's why now I always start a new topic thread by introducing which group it is in. For example, in the backstrap group, I will start the new thread by saying WELCOME............YOU ARE IN THE BACKSTRAP GROUP! or something similar-this appears at the top of the page and that way people know where they are.

Bonnie -
Ahh.... This is something that we have been talking about. One of the improvements in the works is to add a forum/group identifier, so that if you click on the topic, you actually know where you are going... I'm not sure what's holding it up, but it may be coming with the general loom improvements. I'll see what I can find out.
Also, for any topic that says "Migrated Group...", I believe those are topics that have been moved to another forum, but the link has been left behind so that people can still get to it. Personally, I'm not sure there's any value in that, because if you're moving a topic, it's generally because it is posted in the wrong place.

OK, glad it wasn't just me. Laverne, I think your identifier idea is a brilliant work-around to this problem. I was able to find my post using a search but I had to re-search each time I wanted to get there until a nice lady mentioned that it was the Southwest Weavers Group so now I know.
Bonnie.
Hi,
I agree it will be nice when you get the feature where you can identify the group/forum. Until now, however it means I have inadvertently been wandering in and out of lots and lots of interesting places I wouldn't otherwise have seen and been amazed and thrilled at the variety and richness of the phenomenon called WEAVING.
I was pleased to get an explanation of the "migrated group", which I feel I have encountered often. It always calls up pictures in my mind of a group of people with folded up looms on their backs trekking across a huge landscape looking for somewhere else... LOL
Originally, most people were posting comments to the group rather than to the group forum. That wasn't the intended use and didn't allow for new topics, so they changed the groups to not let people post comments there and directed them to the group forum. All comments that had already been entered were moved to the forum with the title "migrated group comments".
oh! I have just seen the new feature in the ''hot threads' section-the name of the group is there!!!!
Brilliant! THANK YOU!
Laverne.
Wow - you are on top of it! I was just testing it,which got me to this topic.
We've found that the developer works best when we don't put too much on their plate at once. So Looms plus small fixes are the current foci.
We therefore put forums later.
We've also been working on the bread crumbs so that is should be eventually easier to know where you are.
Alison
Yes, the hot threads have the group name!
It's a big improvement!
Have a good day!
