In the list of things to do could we add clarification of Activity Privacy Settings that appears under My Profile tab. I think I can figure most of them out but the last 4 have me flummoxed. I noticed that on one of the pages where you can see the latest posts there is a running commentary on the left side of the page on who has done what. For instance, I'm thinking most folks don't need to know when I update my profile and I'd like to opt out of that. I know this would not be a priority but if the definitions could be written for real people it would be great. I'll keep looking to see if this is addressed somewhere but I haven't seen it yet. thanks Deb
that looks like we might be getting some clarification on the last 4 items of the Activity Privacy Settings that appears under My Profile tab. Is something posted somewhere. When I click on the dashboard I just bounce to the Help page and do not see anything related to the Privacy Settings?
Deb,
Can you give me the url of where you are when you click on the Dashboard and bounce to the Help pages? I'd like to try and reproduce that error so we can fix it.
We are working on learning more about the settings in My Profile/notifications,etc.
Claudia
I am on the dashboard and see the static page with the word updated and the #1 showing a new message. When I click on the red #1, it takes me to the Help page, not sure why it is showing up. Of course the updated and the new message is not showing up now because I clicked on it earlier. Do you go in without your admin rights so you can see what we see? Deb Mc Safari 5.0.1

Deb,
Sorry to bother but can you email me the page from above so I can see it better and send it on to the developers.
Thanks,
The dashboard shows everything that has happened on the site. If you read the entry for the "Static page" it shows you that admin made a change on the Help page. IT's a great way to find out what's going on throughout Weavolution all on one page. When you click on "new" in that row you would be taken to the help page because that's the page that was edited by Admin. The changes that were made were part of some of the fixes the developers made. You may not be able to see all the changes made when it has been done by admin so, if you want, you can probably just skip those updates.
Good idea to have me check in Safari as non admin. It helped me understand exactly what you were seeing.
Claudia
I usually only use Dashboard as my Weavo Port of Entry because the other pages don't renew for me or act inconsistently. When I saw the static page was updated I expected to see something different on the help page when I clicked on the "new" but nothing new was there. So I guess what you are saying is that sometimes we will see something updated but won't see anything changed because the Admin/Programmers have done something in the background that we can't see but the Dashboard lets us know that someone is tinkering under the Dashboard...., got it? :))
You got it!! Took me a few minutes but when I went to my non admin sign on and saw the entry you were referring to, it hit me. I remember what we changed and it's one of those behind-the -scenes things that improves your experience but you won't be able to access it.

every get answered?
Hi Deb,
I thought I answered the question about the item you saw on the Dashboard that indicated there was something new in the Help pages that you were unable to find. The Dashboard shows everything and now it has the Group name under the first column wherever you see a "Group Post". If you change a comma or a period in an entry in the Help pages, that will show on the Dashboard and it may be difficult for you to find that exact change.
The screen shot you posted and emailed showed a new entry in the Help pages and I had updated one of the Help topics.
Does that answer the question? If not, since this has become a long section, please post it again so I get it right.
Thanks,
Claudia
(Yes, I am the only person answering everything and following the site daily. Others help in other, behind the scenes, ways.)
