I just joined, but was thinking that it would be good to either be able to view "unread posts," or at least the last post in each given catagory, so that one wouldn't have to slog through previously read stuff.

Please don't apologize, we want to hear from you. Weavolution is here for its users, not just for those of us who created it. Pleae always post any idea you have.
We have made several changes to Groups and Forums and our development group is planning on delivering them this week. We hope to have things in place by the end of the week or early next week. I don't have all the details but I know there are great improvements coming. Please give us some time as we fix and change things. But always give us your ideas and do not feel you need to apologize.

I think we've made this even easier with the new functionality. Clicking on the thread subject or the unread number takes you to the first unread post.
