The West Virginia Fiber Festival is being held 11-12 September 2010 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM at the West Virginia University (WVU) Reedsville Arena. Festival details are available at www.wvalpacafiberfest.com.
The goal is to create a venue which promotes and educates the public about our U.S. natural fiber industry. The WV Fiber Festival is designed to give fiber producers, fiber artists (weavers!) and fiber processors an opportunity to display and sell their products, services, livestock and equipment. The Festival therefore incorporates sales, displays, education, demonstrations, competitions and just plain fun for all those interested in fiber.

We are counting down the days till the first West Virginia Fiber Festival. So far we have over 20 farms and vendors who will be there with their animals, yarns, fabulous finished fiber articles or equipment for sale. It will be a few years before we overtake MS&WF or Rhinebeck, but we are looking forward to a good first festival.
For the latest information on vendors and a schedule of events, check out the website at
Hope to see you there!

Best of luck with the first year. Perhaps a Weavo team can join you next year.

Thanks Claudia - sorry we did not get organized enough this year, but it has been a real scramble. With only about two and a half months to pull this off, we are managing quite well. I think that next year we can turn this into a real festival, as the planning is already underway!
