I just found information about an interesting class near my home. Bobbie Irwin, well known author, weaver, spinner, etc. is teaching the following class in Frederick, MD
I wanted to mention I will be teaching a class on twined rag
rugs Sept. 24-26, at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center in
Frederick, MD. All levels--no weaving or twining experience needed.
If you're interested or know of anyone who might be, please have them
contact Nancy Izant at Delaplaine, nizant@delaplaine.org.

Our guild (Pioneer Valley Weavers) had Bobbie do a similar workshop and it was very well received. I'd encourage anyone in the area to check it out.

I agree! I have taken one of Bobbi's classes, and it was a *great* experience.
If you demonstrate in a historical venue, she will give you much to think about from a historical context, even as you are learning the techniques and actually making something you can use!
I am so torn, I was so excited about this workshop because I live in Frederick. However it is the same weekend as the Shenandoah Fiber Festival and we make that a family event every year. Plus it is the last weekend of the Great Frederick Fair and I am involved in that too.
Decisions, Decisions.
