we could move all the online weaving forums - old new trusted and blue - to weavolution! I have a few things for sale, and between rugtalk marketing, raverly warped weavers marketplace and weavolution for sale or trade - i'm half crazy!! it's like i have a part time job...
i like all the other sites - and it's not that they are important but can't they just join a forum here???
Just my rant for the afternoon !
Sure and the forums will be new and improved some time next week if all goes well.
We are working closely with our developers to get the forums in chronological order. And, after that, we will have groups and forums merged so it will all be in once place.
We tried something and it didn't work as we hoped it would. It's been over a year since we started creating Weavolution and I no we had good reasons for all our design decisions. Turns out, some were wrong and now we are doing our best to improve them as quickly as possible.
If I had a magic wand...
I understand your frustration. it keeps me up at night. But I love Weavolution and I know we will be better and better. Please give us a little time. And, if you'd like to be part of the process, we can always use alpha testers. Just let me know if you would like to help.

I'm not whining about Weavolution! Quite the contrary.... I'm wishing that all the old online forums (yahoo and otherwise) would migrate here!!
Oh, believe me, in my heart of hearts I feel the same way. But I don't think the people at Yahoo would be very happy. Besides, this is the US, competition is supposed to be good for you. But, if....

maybe yahoo needs to step up on the technology.....weavolution is providing the perfect platform for all forums.... people will soon realize that....maybe?!

It's so nice to hear your enthusiasm for Weavolution. I agree with you about Weavolution being a great gatherng place... C'mon, y'all! I know we are still in a beta phase here, but it's working great as a place for all weavers, all skill levels, all techniques to share information with each other... together we will be able to make it even better!

I agree. I am in a couple of groups on Yahoo, and am not a big fan. The email-based update system is pretty old-school.
Rest assured, we are working very hard to bring new and better things to Weavolution as quickly as possible. We have an improved version of Yarns and My Stash and we have a new Looms feature that we are looking forward to bringing onto the beta site.
The process is very laborious. When we make a change, we much test it on the test server before it gets brought over here. If we find problems, they need to be worked out over there first.
I will be writing about all the changes going on behind the scenes later today. We hope to release some very soon.

I love Weavolution enough to volunteer my time on the dev team, but the email lists have their place too. Some people don't have high speed internet access and need to avoid all the lovely graphics and pictures we see on Weavolution, some aren't as computer savvy and are happiest with email, and I'm sure there are other reasons too. So I stay a member of the email lists in addition to Weavolution, which unfortunately leaves me with less time for weaving if I don't watch it.
